Vulnerability is the only authentic state. But in today’s society vulnerability is thrown around a lot and in a similar way to boundaries, we have lost touch with its meaning. Where boundaries are often considered rigid, vulnerability implies being open and we tend toward the extreme of this feeling and act and extend it to everything and everyone.
Have you tried being vulnerable with yourself?
Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.
— Brené Brown
As with all things, we must begin to cultivate a vulnerability within, by being honest and truly seeing and acknowledging ourselves. Being vulnerable means being open, for wounding, but also for pleasure. Being open to the wounds of life means also being open to the bounty and beauty. Don’t mask or deny your vulnerability: it is your greatest asset. Be vulnerable: quake and shake in your boots with it. the new goodness that is coming to you, in the form of people, situations, and things can only come to you when you are vulnerable, that is to say, open.⠀
So allow yourself to be open; allow yourself to receive. Cultivate that connection in knowing the deepest parts of you and acknowledging them to yourself. This connection, for me, is found and recognized in my Daily Practice. It is in the form of creating rituals and space for myself that I allow the mind to become still. Daily Practice in combination with Ritual is when the mind becomes totally clean and receptive, and Infinity talks to you. Within that space the healing begins. Within that space we open ourselves to prosperity. Within that space, we experience the wholeness of our being.
